IN FRISCO STYLE MAGAZINE ABOUT MY STORY
LETICIA HERRERA
Born in Mexico City, Leticia Herrera grew up surrounded by family, stories, and the vibrant colors of her culture. Creativity was part of her world from the beginning, though life first led her into graphic design, where she built a successful career. In 2007, she immigrated to the United States, carrying with her both the richness of her roots and the challenges of starting over in a new land.
Her signature Walkers series emerged from a deeply personal journey —navigating single motherhood, profound loss, and the search for belonging. These textured silhouettes moving across layered canvases embody resilience, vulnerability, and hope. Each figure is both individual and part of a collective, symbolizing the shared paths we walk as human beings.
Herrera is an established and awarded artist represented by galleries, with her work exhibited widely and collected in the United States and abroad. She lives and maintains her studio in McKinney, Texas, where she continues to transform personal experience into a universal invitation: to walk together, to connect, and to find strength in our shared humanity
